While you are in Africa, any plans for Ethiopian AL or Kenya AW? Kenya Airways will be finished soon, but Ethiopian is shelved for now(though it will be the first carrier finished when I revisit Africa). It turns out Ethiopian and Air Namibia are huge, huge projects. A single route may have 20+ frequencies as each day of the week is a different time and flight number, so it would take me as long to do those 2 as it would to finish Air New Zealand and Ansett. So I narrowed down the African carriers I will finish to those that have paints started by Mikey or already done by others because once I finish these last few African carriers, I am simultaneously going to finish Air New Zealand and Saudia 1994/1995 and 1998. I will re-visit Africa later and finish South African, Ethiopian, and others. In the mean time, Air Afrique, Air Gabon, Air Madagascar, Aero Service(Congo) and Kenya Airways will all be finished soon before I do Air New Zealand and Saudia. Then Ansett will be next, followed by the Chinese carriers at Ranmori's request. There may be a few other random carriers finished here and there as sometimes when I'm away from home and find a 1998 timestable online, I will just quickly do it on my laptop(that is why I did Aloha and Spirit).

Thank you, chasensfo for breaking into the Congo! There are some Congo-based airlines that I’m looking to do. Congo Airlines was one of them but ACS, CAA, and a few others are slated to be done. I’ll be able to paint some of the planes but not all.

\\Aero Service (Congo) 1998 Aero Service (1967 - Present) IATA: BF ICAO: RSR CALLSIGN: CONGOSERV Aero Service was one of a few dozen Congolese carriers active in 1998, but was one of the few to have scheduled international flights to nearby countries like Gabon. The airline is based in Pointe Noire(PNR), and the 1998 fleet consisted of an ex-Braniff\American\AirCal 737-200, an ATR-42-300, an An-24RV, a CASA 212-100 and a CASA 212-300. There were several other stored aircraft in BZV, but as there aren't even photos(that I could find) of the scheduled fleet for the most part, I decided to leave out the stored planes for now until someone ever paints them, at which point I'll go back and add them in. The rag-tag fleet would survive the decades of war and the airline is still in service today. The 737-200 wore a very cool ex-American Airlines livery, It looks like they kept part of the American bare metal and part of the Braniff "Ultra" purple\blue livery. You may download the FAIB 737-200 repaint by Eduardo Villanueva Here: drive.google.com/drive/folders/1jqe5qGvVn6DZ61Br9fTqKM9fe8mxmost?usp=sharingThe rest of the fleet is needed. //Solomon Airlines 1998 Solomon Airlines (1962 - Present) IATA: IE ICAO: SOL "SOLOMON" Operating from the former Henderson Field on Guadalcanal(now known as Honiara Airport with the IATA code "HIR"), which was captured by US Marines in WWII(including my grandfather), Solomon Airlines has been serving the surrounding islands for decades and is still operating many of the same DHC-6 Twin Otters today that were flying in 1998. The 1998 fleet consisted of 4 DHC-6 Twin Otters, 2 BN-2 Islanders, and a 737-300 which served international routes to New Caledonia, Fiji, and Australia. The 737 spends some time on the ground abroad, but the props usually do 10 minute turns, so good luck finding them "in the wild". Civil unrest would break out in 1999, with an ethnic civil war making the area around the airport unsafe and leading to an interruption in air service. The HIR airport itself has barely changed since 1998, commercial scenery for modern flight sims is very accurate to 1998. The airline has since gone through several aircraft types, including the Embraer 170, and today operates an A320 on longer routes and DHC-8-100\300s on inter island flights. Note that some of the airports used may not be compatible with AI without modification, as they are grass or dirt strips, and some of the ones used in 1998 have not had airline service in years. The 737 is still needed, as is a paint for the HTAI DHC-6. the following paints are on Avsim: HTAI BN-2: htai_bn2_islander_solomon_sl.zip PAI DHC-6(I have not tested this aircraft in P3Dv4/5): pai_dhc6_solomon_sl.zip BN-2\DHC-6: 737-300: Download Solomon Airlines 1998 Flightplans Here

//Air Vanuatu 1998 Air Vanuatu (1981 - Present) IATA: NF ICAO: AVN CALLSIGN: AIR VAN Vanair (1965-2004) IATA: X4 ICAO: ZHI CALLSIGN: VANAIR Air Vanuatu is the national international air carrier of Vanuatu, while Vanair was the national domestic airline, which also flew a few international regional routes. In 1998, Air Vanuatu operated mostly as a "virtual carrier", with many flights operated under the Air Vanuatu brand but most operated by other carriers. Air Vanuatu only operated 737 flights itself with 2 EMB-110s and BN-2As and 4 DHC-6's operated by Vanair and the Saab 2000 operated by Air Marshall Islands in their full colors. 6 years later in 2004, Vanair merged with Air Vanuatu. Most of the domestic airports were dirt, grass, or coral strips in 1998 and several have no air service today, so not all of them have AI parking I'm sure. Unlike most airlines in the region with a single 737 that chose to operate 1 weekly flight to as many ciites as possible, Air Vanuatu decided instead to limit the aircraft to 3 destinations and instead focus on frequency, with each route flown 2-3x weekly. While the schedule called for just the 737-300, the airline was also leasing a 737-400 from Qantas until the end of April 1998 while the 737-300 was introduced in March, so I divided the schedule of the 737 into 2 aircraft to represent both active in the fleet. Air Vanuatu survived to present day, but Vanair would fail in 2004. Note: Since the Saab 2000 only flew on Fridays for Air Marshall Islands, I have it doing a 1998 sales tour to New Zealand and Australia which it did in real life keeping it busy the rest of the week. It turns out, the rest of the week the aircraft was operated by Air Vanuatu. As the 2 aircraft(which in real life was one aircraft) only overlap a few hours per week in Nadi, Fiji and otherwise are never in the same place, I elected to leave the Air Marshall Islands plans with the sales tour to represent the era. Delete the Saab 2000 from the Air Marshall Islands plans if that bothers you, it only did 1 weekly flight on behalf Air Marshall Islands anyway, even though it was operated by them. Paints are needed for the DHC-6, BN-2A, Saab 2000,and 737-400, but there are 3 versions of the 737 repaint on different models, but none on the FAIB model as of yet: AIA 737-300: On Avsim as "texture.vanuatu.zip" AIA 737-300v2 (needs the website url removed for 1998):on Avsim as "aia_b737-300v2_air_vanuatu.zip" ARNZ\AIS 737-300(I have not tested this in P3Dv4\5): On Flightsim as "733van.zip BN-2A\DHC-6\EMB-110: Saab 2000: 737-300\400: Download Air Vanuatu 1998 Flightplans Here

Aero Service (Congo) 1998 BF/RSR "CONGOSERV" The 737-200 wore a very cool ex-American Airlines livery, but I don't know how to paint bare-metal. It looks like they kept part of the American bare metal and part of the Braniff "Ultra" purple\blue livery. Does this interest anyone? Here it is, although no registration number since it wasn't visible from the picture above It is impressive coming back to check this forum and find out all the work you guys have done during all this time I've been away from FS stuff. I wish I had time for a come-back and work as consistently as I used to but work takes practically all my time. Hopefully one day in the near future. In fact I was getting ready to even move to FSX. About a month ago I bought a Dell G7 gaming laptop. I didn't get the chance to even buy FSX from steam to find out if that laptop would be good enough to give me good performance and quality because it was stolen from my car 4 days after I bought it. Anyway, all my old FS files are still intact on this computer I am writing from (this old Dual Core 2.0 GHz Pentium 4 Win XP) and that's why I got the chance to use those resources to do that 732. I wanted to attach the texture file here but it was slightly bigger than 1Mb, Chasen, where can I email it to you? Eduardo

If you make a come back anytime and want to do the Mexican airlines for 1998, I'll send you all the pages from the OAG to help you do that, otherwise Mexico is a long ways off but it will be nice to fill in the gap between your 1993/94 project and your late 2000s project. If you're upgrading from FS9, I'd say just go with P3Dv4 unless you think you can't run it on whatever laptop you get to replace the one those bastards swiped from you(really sorry to hear that, awful people out there in the world, man). FS9/FSX are slowly losing support for new stuff, even in the retro world. Still, the majority of users are making FS9 work, so whatever floats your boat. 9Q-CKZ was the registration by the way, if you google it there are images showing where the registration was. I'm message you my e-mail address right now, and as long as you're OK with me hosting it in my Drive with full credit to you like we did with the Leisure Air A320, I'll upload it for all these good people to enjoy as a rare treat in the Congo. Thanks again for doing that, and also thank you for allowing me to convert your textures onto newer models or use them for hyrids or what not. Was able to convert several of them. Other than the horrible luck with the laptop, I'm glad you're still around in some form and doing OK.

I hope you’re able to eventually find your way back into FS, having both you and Mikey would lead to an unstoppable torrent of excellent paints!

\\Hawaiian Air 1998 Hawaiian Air (1929 - Present) IATA: HA ICAO: HAL CALLSIGN: HAWAIIAN Hawaiian Air is the "national" airline of Hawaii, or the closest thing to it, and one of the oldest airlines in the world still operating. Initially, flights were operated with flying boats, and later DC-3s and similar props. Hawaiian did a good job keeping up with modern technology, and seems to keep up with modern industry standards as new aircraft came out all the way up to the first DC-9s in 1966. The introduction of these jets cut travel times in half, and provided a much smoother ride along bumpy routes, and Aloha was forced to quickly buy Bac 1-11s to compete. The airline later added DC-8s and L-1011s to the fleet and began to participate in charter work, especially military charters, and offer transpacific flights. Meanwhile on the inter-island front, larger DC-9-30s and DC-9-50s were added, as well as MD-80s and DHC-7s for smaller airfields. By 1998, Hawaiian Air was still a shell of its current self in the Transpacific market, while it was fiercely competing with Aloha Airlines in the intra-Hawaii market. DC-10-10s preformed all Long Haul flights as well as those to the USA, while a fleet of DC-9-50s competed with Aloha between the islands. All other aircraft types had been retired. At the time, all flights from OGG to the mainland actually originated in Honolulu and made a stop in Maui in each direction on which no tickets were sold between HNL\OGG. LAX was used as a stop over point as well for flights between HNL\OGG and LAS, and had also been used as a stop to Portland(PDX) in years prior. All mainland flights from HNL were daily while flights to other destinations in the Pacific and between the mainland and OGG were operated only a few days per week. HNL-LAX was the busiest mainland route for the DC-10, with 3 daily flights. Despite the retirement of the DHC-7 with STOL(short takeoff and landing) capability, the DC-9-50s still served the smaller airports of LNY and MKK(even with some very short flights between the two) at the time. These airports could barely handle the large jet, and unsurprisingly were soon after abandoned until Ohana by Hawaiian was launched in recent years with ATR-42s many years later. The AIG DC-9-50 has been along with the flightplans on Avsim as: "hawaiian_air_1998.zip". AIM DC-10-10 by Jason King on Avsim as "aim_dc1010_hawaiian_n160aa.zip" ***NOTE*** These DC-9s did a LOT of legs since the flights were so short. AI Flightplanner warns that the AI engine can't support more than 100 flights per flightplan, and these planes exceed that. The only way around it would be to add several extra plans by my math, which I'd rather not do in fear of unrealistically overcrowding HNL and the smaller airports. Please let me know if you run into issues and I will have to go in and "cancel" several flights in most of the flightplans. DC-9-51: DC-10-10: Download Hawaiian Air 1998 Flightplans Here

//Pacific Wings 1998 Pacific Wings (1974-2015) IATA: LW ICAO: NMI CALLSIGN: TSUNAMI Pacific Wings was originally Air Nevada, operating tours between LAS and sight seeing destinations likes the Las Vegas Strip, the Grand Canyon and the Hoover Dam. In 1998, the airline moved to Hawaii and began flying it's Cessna 402C between the Hawaiian Islands, connecting larger cities like Honolulu(HNL) and Maui(OGG), as well as medium-sized cities like Molokai(MKK), to tiny airports on routes that Island Air and Hawaiian Air had abandoned. Ambitiously, some turns were scheduled to be just 3 minutes, and some flights were scheduled for 3 minutes as well, including taxi time! Flights were centered on OGG, you will only see these Cessnas in HNL a few times per day. The Caravans did not arrive until the year 2000, and eventually, Pacific Wings would use them to start proxy airlines(such as Georgia Skies, New Mexico Airlines and Kentucky Skies) across the mainland United States flying Essential Air Service(EAS) routes from busy commercial airports like IAD and smaller ones like ABQ to tiny cities with no commercial air service in exchange for government grants before failing in 2015. The HTAI Cessna 402C repaint was uploaded to Avsim as 'pacific_wings_fleet.zip' by Vladimir Svoboda, but lost in the Avsim hack years ago and never reuploaded (thank you funk for finding the file). I have temporarily re-hosted the file here: drive.google.com/drive/folders/1oRCzZTVIj3RKf3fvPS-kenl23Hn0GxZm?usp=sharingCessna 402C: Download Pacific Wings 1998 Flightplans Here

Oh, my precious! Thank you very much for Ethiopian! Ah I just messaged you about this, I guess you found it quickly! You are very welcome! Since the VIP government fleet consisted of a single DHC-6(to this day, the country still charters Ethiopian Airlines jets for VIP flights outside the country), I will be doing that soon as well as it will be a fast project. Enjoy!
