Because sometimes all you need is a fresh coat of paint... Just do a little touch up on the existing paintkit, I told myself. You just have to add some window shades and update the exhausts, I convinced myself. Well, I lied to myself. Instead, I ended up with a completely rebuilt, full HD, FSX 2048x2048 DDS paint, for a decade old model that now looks like the belle of the ball. It's not a perfect paintkit because it's not a perfect model, so I've taken some liberties, especially around the wing root. I've also still got some work to do, small details to add, but I'm pretty happy with how it's come together. Brian

I'd totally do paints with that*.
*Provided the layering is well thought out.

Hey Jason,
The original 707-120 model has the good old fashioned JT3C-6s, but they looked awful on the original paintkit. The chimney exhausts aren't modeled so I did the best representation I could with a flat texture.
I'm struggling to decide if I want to use the original model, or the updated CalClassic version. The CalClassic models include the larger tail option and spoilers, but somewhere along the line, the nose gear doors got misplaced, and the engine fan blades ended up as one solid white untextured disk, which sticks out like a sore thumb.
The mapping is the same, so in the end, I just need to decide which flaw I dislike less.
