Hi All. Now that I'm able to actually participate in my favourite hobby again, a couple of AI questions for you. I believe that some of you would like door less models, IE no opening cargo door or entry doors. If that is still the case, reply here and I'll produce some MDL's without that feature. Also, are there any FSX users here who would like to test alpha models in that sim. I only have FS9, so need some input from FSX users on how the model looks and performs in FSX. Here are some high res screen shots (you need to download them due to the size), if an alpha model that so far has only been tested in FS9. Still a couple of minor display issues to sort out, but the main LOD is 99% complete. Download:- app.box.com/shared/static/xts8wknohm06sahbq9oxw8lezscaxm7u.zipI could also do with some help with the flight dynamics for some other models, if any one who visits here is good with AI FDE tweaking could help me out. Thanks. Paul

Do these models violate the "one diffuse texture" rule?
And what planes are we talking about anyway?

Do these models violate the "one diffuse texture" rule? And what planes are we talking about anyway? Hi Bjoern. You have a low detail low poly 707, so this is a high poly high detail 707 that uses a lot of standard HJG textures converted to DXT1. I don't fly, I AI spot so nice sharp textures and all the bells and whistles are what I want to see, not the blurries Attachment DeletedAnd also this one. Attachment DeletedOld picture from its fist flight back in 2013. Others on the way with this one next to be released. Attachment DeletedSo no, it uses as many texture as I feel necessary to give me the result that I want Paul

These models have been in sore need of replacement. These particular DC-8-61's, DC-9-50's, and the 707 are all fantastic models. Very detailed and animated; also compatible with existing textures... Not to down the Waldron AI models... but look how far we have come in the AI world. From fairly simple renderings to models that look like the real things...

I understand that. Time marches on and waits for no man.

I hope I did not hurt your feelings, Mr. Waldron... I'm not condemning your work for others... But as those models are a bit older now, it's cool to see where we have come from (FSP, PAI, DWAI, SKJ, etc.) to where we are now... (AIA, AIG, HJG AI, FAIB, DJC, etc.). We wouldn't be where we are without you, good sir. :-)

I've always viewed Dee as one of the flightsim legends... Up there with Dave Marshall and Tom Gibson

Let's not forget Mr. Jason ( Jason), Mr. Eduardo ( eduardo85), Paul Haak, Charles Dayhuff, Erez, Dee, Craig, Andy, and the many other greats in this line of work. "Opa" Marshall, Tom Gibson, Billy Rutherford, Ralf Maylin, and the many, many more I can't think of off the top of my head: You all are among the greatest flight simulator developers and modifiers and we owe you our thanks... (You have mine, at the very least.)

I'm just one old horse in a very long wagon train in this hobby. Of course time goes on and new modelers come into the hobby and the gene pool is revitalized. That's the way it should be, and I'm very happy to see it. Dee

New minds with new ideas (and newer PC's), make things possible today that would kill the average PC when FS9 came out I can still remember the heady days of AF5, when you were limited to 250 parts, with only a few tubes etc that you can have. Fighting to remove polys was the norm back then as it was so easy to go over budget. Now its the opposite! Fifty five tomorrow, so not very young blood here Paul
