We all know the best music comes from Germany and Australia AC/DC Scorpions and Accept I beg to differ somewhat, while I like all the aforementioned, Germany also gave us M and "Pop Musik" - thanks a lot for that one. Australia, though, has sent out some good stuff - I like INXS and especially Midnight Oil. Midnight Oil's "Diesel and Dust" and "Blue Sky Mining" own the known universe.

OT: I'm quite content as long as nobody mentions Celine Dion Oh, sheesh, I picked my mother up from a trip to Las Vegas last year and she was raving about how great Celine was. I said "You know that tiger that bit Roy? If they could find a way to have it eat Celine Dion, that would be the only way I'd pay for anything even remotely related to her." She didn't find that funny. Then again, she loves Celine's "I Drove All Night" and I had to tell her the first version was done by Cyndi Lauper and played it for her. She was shocked that Lauper hit all those notes - just because she looked like a freak in 1984 doesn't mean the woman can't sing... At any rate, the song was originally recorded by Roy Orbison just before his death, but not released until after Lauper's take came out. Celine's take is putrid elevator music by comparison.

I am with you on that..... I have a CD with Cyndi Lauper singing Big Band & Torch songs... Just beautiful! She can go note to note with just about anyone. Also Queen Latifah has great voice & tremendous range. I have a CD where she sings a couple of Duke / Ella classics, just so smooth....

No I was not being sarcastic. The number one music for me is 80 rock and roll. The best summer I had was 1991. Just about every weekend I was to a different show that summer I seen everyone from Yes to Panteria. One of the best shows I was to was in Mannheim Germany Headlined by Whitesnake with Poison DEO Vixen and a few lesser known groups it was an all day affair sort of like Woodstock people had camped out in the parking lot the night before. Those were the days. Please do not take my comment as being sarcastic the was not the intent.

Poison, Ratt, Warrant, Dokken - just about anyone who was anyone in those days is playng. I have a secret love for all that stuff, I've even dated an ex of C.C. DeVille. Pantera, they were out of Dallas - I know them well. Poor Darrell (Dimebag), that was messed-up, he was such a great guy. I had more than a few shots of Crown Royal with him when one of my bands hit Dallas, he always had the door open if you wanted to get your party on. Phil was a bit hard to take at times - his heroin addiction really beat him down. He's clean now, but there's still a lot of bad feelings between him and the rest of the band.
