Hi All. At last here is part one of my repainted American Airlines 1980's fleet. This one is the two variations of the Boeing 727-023. N1956 with the standard window layout. N1910 with the custom widow layout and variations of the white fuselage paint. Download:- www.box.net/shared/static/zafmoeso4s.zipI hope to get the two variations of the 727-200 up in a couple of days. Enjoy. Paul

;DVery nice Job Paul, I look foreward to the -223s! Are you planning a matching 10 also? Stan Hi Stan. Have not done any painting since I built the new PC and the 10s and 747s were the only paints that I did not make a start on but they will be painted in the near future. I need to dig out the fonts again and remember which ones I used for the AA titles. I'm busy poly pushing at the moment (more of that later!) and that gobbles up my time something chronic. I am going to take time out and get the two 727-223s uploaded tomorrow night. I'll get the Mad Dog and the 762 up shortly as well. I'll have to see what other paints are waiting to see the light of day. I hope you have as much fun using them as I did painting them. Paul

Jetstar, American's font for the Dreyfuss colour scheme is Helvetica. I cannot recall the weight off the top of my head, but I believe it was Helvetica Bold. Helvetica Neue 75 Bold is a near-perfect match. If you need the typeface, please let me know.
Also, the white on the FRP and composite panels was actually a pale grey as I recall. They used a slightly lighter shade than you seen on the post 757 fleet, but it was noticably greyed out from a stark (pure) white.

Starting installing fonts again and have the Halvetica's back on. It was a bold variation that I used as that was the best match to the real birds. On the 727's I did lighten up the grey as in the sim it looked far to dark compared to the photos used in the repaint. Then again what looks fine on my monitor may not look the same others. ;D I'll have to fit in the DC-10s and 747s soon. I have the basic fuselage completed for the 747 so i guess I'll do that one first, but on their other hand...................... Paul

You know, I came here looking for a good repaint for the AA 747-100 and I'm glad to know one is in the works! That's my favorite plane ever made and I'm happy to know I'll now have a visually pleasing one for AI traffic! ;D
