Here's some non-1983 paints I've done recently. Any paint in this thread will be uploaded to Avsim since my blog will continue to be 1983-centric. Big Sky Airlines Fairchild Metro IIILone Star Airlines Fairchild Metro 23

Organizing my timetables last night reminded me that I wanted to paint this one. I love the colors and they look outstanding on the 707. It's also got a great story. It was purchased from Northwest Orient in 74 to operate charters to Europe, Hawaii and the Caribbean. By 1976, Transair was in serious financial trouble so they were looking to sell the 707, with Bangladesh Biman being the buyer. At the same time, creditors came calling and set their sights on repoing the 707. The $500,000+ debt was no where near the $7.5 million they'd get for selling the aircraft, so Transair sent it into "hiding". They ferried it between airports in the far Canadian north to keep it away from the creditors until the deal with Biman could be signed and they could take possession in February 77. Now available on the blog. Transair Canada Boeing 707-320C

Transair Canada Boeing 707-320CThat has got to be one of the funniest and most interesting things I've heard in a while relating to aviation, I can imagine nothing more than Yakety Sax playing while the creditors are trying to find the plane as it's being ferried right out of where they're at to the next location. Is there any representative plans for this?

Sounds like what Victor Bout did with his fleet of planes about 20 years later.

I just couldn't help myself. I love these original colors with the small titles. They definitely weren't designed for an aircraft the size of the 747, but it a beautiful bridge between the old and the next generation. Pan Am Boeing 747-100 circa 1970

I like the second generation paint as of 1976 onwards. The bigger font suited the 747s much better than the initial ones.
Kind regards.
