Chasen's "(almost) better than nothing" paints

Ahoy there.

Since things are a little scattered and I've been painting a bit for the 1990s again, I figured I'd make a thread outside of the flightplans section to keep track of paints I upload. They mostly go to Google Drive these days, and some have been posted here in random threads while others haven't been shared yet on the forums. I am also hosting paints on behalf of various authors, mostly those supporting the 1998 project as well as some lost files no longer available on Avsim due to the hack years ago.

I don't have the patience to be a great painter, and I don't need to be with so many talented painters here. So don't expect me to do any difficult liveries, and while I'll make them decent, don't expect these to look like Ranmori or Mikey made them. I will also usually take them down when a better paint is uploaded by someone else in the future if they are just intended to be stop-gap paints as is the case with many of these. A few of the paints are modern.

All of these files are .DDS DXT5 for P3Dv4\5. You will need to use DXTbmp to flip these textures and save them to .BMP or whatever you'd like to get them to work in FS2004/FSX. In some cases, you may need to resize them as P3D native textures are twice as large. They will work in MSFS only with FSX native models and will otherwise need conversion for use with MSFS native models (flipped right-side up again, alpha channel removed, named ".PNG.DDS" extension and .cfg changes).

I took Eduardo's Sobelair/GBAirways hybrid and replaced the titles with those on his GBAirways repaint on the UTT 737-200 to get it on the FAIB model. Full credit to him obviously as all I did was copy+paste basically LOL. Uploaded in Google Drive, link above.

Ranmori planned on doing Vietnam Airlines so just let him know if you start it, I don't think he has started it but he was planning on doing every unpainted aircraft that served Kai Tak in the 1990s which is a broad variety haha.

HVN also had a single 762 early on, but the majority of Kai Tak HVN traffic (if not all) was A320s, while the 767s flew mostly west on long-haul. I will track down Ranmori and check with him.

I always liked Air Sicilia, so I decided to paint up their 1994 colors on the FAIB 737-200 since piper created flightplans. By the late 1990s, the orange was changed to red, then later the grey belly/gold stripe were dropped in favor of a white fuselage. The ATR-42 is a little more challenging with Dolphins jumping around waves across the belly. While that is cool, looks to be a little difficult for my skillset. Lol.

Community Express was an interesting mid 1990s English commuter airline, connecting EGKK and EGBB with EGGP. The airline had several livery variations(though usually only 1-2 planes on property at a time), but I settled on these 2 from 1996. Requires the PAI JS31 No Pod(NP) model and HTAI Shorts SD-360. I took Eduardo's Shorouk Air hybrid from his Onur Air pacakage and just created the proper titles for it, full credit goes to him. Link above, and the flightplans are in my 1990s thread.

I did 5 of the 6 liveries worn by Trans Alsace/Jet Alsace tonight to go with my 1993 flightplans. Jet Alsace was failing by 1993 and became Trans Alsace for the last few months it existed with an Ex-Air Liberte and Ex-Key International MD-80. The Key International plane will be painted eventually, but no idea when. Nick Prestwich painted the original BIA and Adria liveries, linguistpilot did the Air Liberte MD-80, and cgold did the Minerve MD-80. Credit goes to them, thank you! Links above:
