I recently had a texture given to me for naai Fokker 50, but in fs9 its blank...when I put the texture file into the texture folder I created I could see the repaint....I do know for a fact it was resized to the 1024/1024 for fs9.....the only thing I notice is that the file he sent me isn't named like the other t files in that model that do work??...any ideas? thank you

Are you using the correct model for the texture? Is the file name/extension in the cfg correct for the texture folder? If I see a white plane and the computer doesn't CTD, it's usually those two problems.

thanks cgold, on my end all the wording is correct from the texture folder in the aircraft, to the cfg. file is matching...I didn't paint this..my nephew wanted to try to paint, but he knows nothing about the flightsim world I found the repaint for the nnai on the flyingcarpet website, there's only one to choose from, so I figured its for fs9...no what he has to do with it im not sure.....again the texture file he sent me I can open it up and see the paintjob he did, and its not bad of an air Wisconsin...but its grey in the flightsim

If you have other paints for the model installed, check that the texture file names of the broken paint match those of working paints. Rename if necessary.
Also make sure that the texture format is correct. 32bit BMP or DXT1 or DXT3 BMP. FSX may use DDS textures.

ok Bjoern, thanks....the file that he sends me he names it himself...not like the texture files in that aircraft are named so I did try to change to what all the other files say, which are named 42_f50_t...so I did change his file to that and then copied a lightmap file and a prop file from the other other textures files...but when I go into fs 2004 and into aircraft menu...I click on it and the fs9 shuts down on me, so im at a loss

Make sure it's formatted correctly. That's exactly what happens when I edit a texture and don't run it through DXTBmp afterwards... Try saving it as an extended texture as a 32bit or as a DXT1 or 3.

.dds texture is a Format that is used in fsx. The dds texture you can open with dxtbmp and Save It as dxt texture but you have to flip it vertical before you can Save it.
