Here is something more "main-line" Trans Air Link: Mr. Manfred Meyer was very gracious to let me use his renderings of the TAL type and logos. TAL had several all metal aircraft and a few more hybrids... Not too far to go, gentlemen.

The Trans-Air-Link fleet is complete. Here are some previews for you all: Tim Slanczka did a Zantop DC-6B way back when and his paint made a good base for the later variant: N515TS. (This one will obviously need his sanction - I have emailed him already.) N867TA and N872TA were both roughly in the same colors. One had a swinging-tail and one had more PAX windows rather than plugs. (The front half-circular design is not my best work but they'll suffice for AI, at least.) N874TA, N779TA (shown in above post), and N841TA were all different variations of metal. N870TA is already out on FlightSim. www.flightsim.com/vbfs/fslib.php?do=copyright&fid=174822

Here is a little something I have been working on too: Renown Aviation was a charter company with a very colorful history. They flew tourists out of the Los Angeles area to places like the Grand Canyon and so on. They also had government contracts with the US Navy for hauling VIP's to and from the many bases around SoCal. They also had offices in southern Florida to help with the tourist season down there. They also had planes based out of Atlantic City for a little while too. So, you could imagine that the logistics of planes and crews got interesting to say the least. However, a great chap by the name of Marcus Robison helped me with starting this project and now I have 6 other and different a/c painted up in the various reg's they operated at one point or another. He had a CV-440 painted up in one variation (N202RA). From there, and with his permission, I was able to craft the other two matching CV-440's (N3HH (a former Sears a/c) and N204RA). They also operated a gaggle of CV-580's. I have four different versions painted up and I'm going to ask if I can release the fifth variation of one particular a/c. N73104 was in United "Saul-Bass" colors in the early 1990's when Renown used this a/c. They repainted it to match their fleet soon afterwards. Renown also had access to several L-188's but those are in the workshop as we speak. Here in the next day or two, I will release the Renown fleet for personal consumption. They are not perfect repaints on my behalf but the CV-580 paintkit is a different beast than its older counterpart - the CV-440. I do thank Marcus Robison for letting me use his textures as a basis for this entire project. Thank you, good sir!

I worked for Renown once upon a time. Being a "Renown Clown" was a different experience. Ask me any questions about aircraft and their basing. I flew all of their 440s and their first 580 (N73163).

Dee Wow! You learn something new everyday! Was your time there enjoyable? Memorable? Were the R-2800's more favorable over the Allison's or vice versa? (And what could you tell me about what a/c were based where?) youtu.be/Po0f-oi8yIE(Here is Renown operating out of Burbank!)

There is no doubt, the 580 was the better aircraft. The old round P&Ws couldn't compete with the Allison muscle-house engines. On the other hand, the 440 was a cheaper airplane to operate, if you could keep it running. Turn around maintenance on the 440 was more intense than the 580. I thought the 580 was easier to fly. Primarily, Renown operated out of Santa Maria CA. They had a secondary FBO later at Fort Lauderdale FL. On both coast's, charter activity was to support military contracts, primarily Navy. Not really vip work, we shuttled sailors, DOD civilians and military contractors to various places. There were various sub-bases to support those contracts. North Island to support the San Clemente shuttle. Point Mugu to support the San Nichols shuttle. In FL we shuttled submarine sailors out of Rock Sound, the Bahamas to Ft Lauderdale. Aircraft were rotated around all the time between all these bases, mostly because of maintenance requirements, sometimes crew. And between all of this, we flew other gov charters for DOJ, BLM and the Forest Service. And there were also some very interesting civil charters that we flew. A couple of Disney film crew charters out to the Bahamas were an interesting story! I can go on and on!! Enjoy it? It was a roller coaster company to work for. A lot of personalities there. But circumstances at the time dictated that I needed a job to feed the hungry mouths at home. LOL! Gotta go now, having an earthquake. Life in Japan! Dee

The 440's looks like its wearing a greyscale Frontier paint.

It is very similar to what Frontier had on their a/c in the 1980's. They had a slightly bigger cheat line down the fuselage... Other than that, you're bang on.
